We're on a mission to turn the tide on eco-anxiety & create the next generation of ocean leaders
NATIONAL TOUR COMING 2025the problem
-
67% of young Aussies suffer from eco-anxiety
Two-thirds of young Australians (67%) say climate concerns are having a negative impact on youth mental health (Orygen 2023).
-
Youth want to be part of the solutions
Young people want to understand what their role is in the rapid shift to renewable energy and a regenerative economy.
-
It is getting worse
With increased natural disasters, without helping this eco-anxiety issue, young Aussies are suffering in silence. Mission Australia Youth Survey found that the environment has become the number one concern for youth.
how we are solving this
Free 1hr High School, TAFE & University Workshops
We have created an interactive 60-minute workshop designed to empower students and provide them with practical tools to address their environmental concerns. After a successful Queensland Pilot we are taking the program nationally to deliver workshops to select schools, TAFEs and universities to create a wave of positive mental-health and ocean-health.
Leadership Building
We are empowering students with self-belief that they can make a difference. We delve into individual and community-based solutions, fostering a sense of agency and responsibility among students to contribute positively to their environment and community.
Digital and Physical Resources
Digital Resources shared to school and students after workshop with practical tools and exercises to improve their mental-health and become ocean leaders for example 'How to Create Change' and each student will receive a workshop pack including a gratitude card.
Student leaders will also receive a booklet on how to encourage their whole school community to become more mindful and take care of themselves and the planet.
Community Events
Creating engaging community events, for example outdoor film screenings and beach clean ups to foster intergenerational collaboration and build community around positive mental-health and ocean-health.
Expert-Led by Australia's top youth mental-health and ocean leaders
Students will gain insights from relatable young leaders who are actively making a difference and have extensive experience inspiring students. An initiative by Surfers for Climate & The Good Human Factory.
